Gloria Peay a UFCW Local One member from Kenmore Mercy Hospital started singing to patients as she delivered food trays as a Kenmore Mercy Food Service Ambasator.

“It all started with Silent Night”, Gloria told us.  “I wanted to cheer up a patient that was down in the dumps because he was in the hospital during the holidays.  I’ve been doing it for 34 years now.”  Peay added.

Gloria has worked at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Kenmore (Buffalo) NY for over 34 years in the dietary department.  She has been married for 42 years, has one son, and she and her husband live in Buffalo.

Her singing has not gone unnoticed.  She has been nominated by patients many times and won the Kenmore “Love Award”.  One patient uploaded her singing to the “sweet buffalo” website and the video went viral.  She was featured on Buffalo area news channel 4. 7 and Spectrum News.

“There is nothing like bringing joy to patients and watching their tears of happiness when I come into their rooms with a happy song and their food tray!”  Peay said.
