UFCW Local One Statement Regarding Sale of Perna Franchise stores to Tops Corporate
UFCW Local One was informed today that Tops Markets has acquired three Perna Tops Franchise stores located at 5827 South Transit Street in Lockport, 5175 Broadway in Depew, and 425 Niagara Street in Buffalo. Tops Corporate will assume the existing contract and keep UFCW Local One members employed.
“The Perna Family were fantastic grocery operators, community leaders and wonderful union employers.” Frank C. DeRiso, President of UFCW Local One said. “Perna’s ran a class operation and was truly a premier Western New York employer. We are confident that Tops Corporate will continue the tradition of operating these stores to the Perna standard. DeRiso added.
UFCW Local One members should see a smooth and seamless transition from Perna owned to Tops corporate.
